Middle High Youth Group (6th - 8th grade)
We are taking the summer off! We've had a very active year with many exciting service projects. Stay informed by visiting this site often! Hit the beach and soak up some sun!
Heifer Program update:
With our two month efforts focused on Heifer Project International, we were able to raise $1611 and purchased MANY animals and trees to gift for Heifer so they could spread our love around the world. The Middle High youth worked at the Paper Truck, Inc. recycle center, held a soup luncheon, distributed and collected ARK banks and offered Christmas gift cards (for a donation). During the project, the Middle High Youth presented a children's moment and blessed our gifts during worship services and shared a video they created thanking the congregation for their support. The FCC congregation was very generous and supportive of all our efforts and we thank you for the abundant blessings we received.
Feeding America:
Our goal was to raise $500 to purchase a 'fresh food truck' for the food pantry. We successfully raised $326 (Green Bay $200, Pittsburg $126) with our soup luncheon. This means we will be having another fundraiser to fill the $124 gap. In April we held another soup luncheon and raised another $300! On June 1 the Feeding America truck arrived and the MHYG in tandem with many church adult volunteers distributed food to 85 local families. The kids got an afternoon out of school and received many thanks for their efforts. Quite an accomplishment for this group of kids. WAY TO GO!!! Again, thank you to all who supported this effort.
Looking FAR into the future:
Next summer is the next UCC National Youth Event being held at Perdu University July 10-14 and registration will open this fall. This is a once every four year fantastic opportunity for our youth to spend a few days on a college campus in worship with a couple thousand other UCC youth. Fun music, motovitaional speakers, youth involved worship services and workshops await our discovery. We will be earning money to attend this event throughout our next season of Youth Group. This experience is well worth the time, effort and financial investment. Consider making your committment to attend!
