Food Pantry (We Care INC)

The First Congregational Church We Care Food Pantry is dedicated to providing food to our most needy families within the greater South Haven area.  Our clients usually come to us on referral from We Care I.N.C. in South Haven.   For more information on We Care I.N.C. visit them at:

The pantry is open three mornings a week: Mon., Wed., and Fri. from 10 until 12 noon, and is supported by a staff of 14 volunteers. We hope to make a difference for people who are going through difficult times.

Nutritionally balanced and complete meal packages are provided. Food stock is obtained through We Care partner churches, community organizations, South Haven Farmers Market, and individuals donating both food items as well as providing financial support.  Thousands of individuals benefit from this pantry each year.

In addition to the normal pantry, this ministry has also passed out Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas Baskets.  And, in December, hosted the Feeding America truck that distributed 5000 pounds of food to needy families.

Food Pantry Directors:  John Gillett & Sue Gillett
